many people use tiger balm for back and joint pain. but did you know that tiger balm can protect you from those nasty mosquito bites? even though it contains petroleum as an inactive ingredient, it is safer than deet containing sprays.
There are two forms of Tiger Balm: red and white. Both types contain the active ingredients of camphor, menthol, cajuput oil, dementholised mint oil and clove oil. The red form also contains cinnamon oil. Terpenoids, which are found in camphor, menthol and eucalyptus naturally deter mosquitos.

If you are adventurous you can create your own Insect Repellent formula, without the petroleum carrier, by purchasing each oil separately and combining them with a carrier oil, such as coconut oil or jojoba. To make your own customized insect repellent, just follow this easy recipe:
Homemade Insect Repellent Recipe
- 2 Tbsps. carrier oil
- 4 drops Camphor
- 3 drops menthol
- 4 drops cajuput oil
- 3 drops mint oil
- 3 drops clove oil
- 3 drops cinnamon oil
